Senior partner and head of the litigation section of the firm with detailed knowledge of criminal and civil litigation and enforcement.
Chit Swe is a highly experienced advocate and litigator with over 50 years of experience in criminal and civil litigation. He qualified as an advocate in 1976, and he joined the firm in 1970 as an apprentice lawyer under founder U Nyunt Tin and left the firm in 1980, rejoining the firm in 1990. During his career, he represented various individual and corporate clients, and he handled numerous legal cases, including trademark infringement, land rights, inheritance, employment, sales of goods, contract disputes and other criminal and civil suites.
He is also a strong advocate of Intellectual property rights, particularly copyrights and trademarks. He is the author of the book named “Even the Contract is Well Prepared” under the pen name “Wai Thu Zay” and frequently contributed his thoughts and legal articles to various newspapers and well- known journals.
